Magician in Omaha
Omaha is a drive, not a flight, which keeps a one-evening booking a one-evening booking
Omaha is about eight hours from Milwaukee, so I drive. That matters more than it sounds: no flights to book around, no equipment shipped ahead, and a Friday evening date does not have to turn into a three-day trip.
The work here splits between downtown corporate events and the suburbs west and south — Papillion, La Vista, Elkhorn. Insurance, banking, rail and construction are the industries that keep booking, and their events tend to be planned well ahead. Travel is either built into the package or itemised on your quote, agreed before anything is booked.
What gets booked in Omaha
Corporate is the bulk of it — insurance and financial services, Union Pacific's people, the engineering and construction firms, and the health systems. Holiday parties from mid-November on, sales meetings in Q1, awards banquets in the spring.
Two things move the calendar. The Berkshire Hathaway weekend in early May fills every hotel in the metro and pulls a lot of private hospitality along with it, and the College World Series does the same thing in June. If your event lands in either window, lock the date early — rooms and vendors both go fast.
Getting there
Roughly 8 hours by road from Milwaukee. That is normally still a drive rather than a flight, which means the full show travels with me, and travel is either built into the package or itemised on your quote, agreed before anything is booked.
