Magician in Charleston

The associations are headquartered here because the legislature is, and every one holds a banquet

Charleston is a ten-hour drive from Milwaukee. I drive it, which keeps flights and shipping out of the quote. The travel is either built into the package or itemised on your quote, agreed before anything is booked.

This is a capital city of around 48,000 people doing the work of a much larger one. State government, the chemical and energy corridor along the Kanawha valley, and the medical centre are the three things that put events on the calendar here.

What gets booked in Charleston

Statewide associations are headquartered here because the legislature is, and their annual meetings and awards banquets are the steadiest work in town: bankers, hospitals, the chamber, the coal and gas trade groups. The session from January into March pulls receptions downtown with it.

The Coliseum and Convention Center and the Clay Center take most of the larger rooms. Past that it is company Christmas parties, hospital service awards, church and community fundraisers, and country-club private events. It is a market where organisers know each other, so the same names turn up on several committees.

Getting there

Roughly 10 hours by road from Milwaukee. That is normally still a drive rather than a flight, which means the full show travels with me, and travel is either built into the package or itemised on your quote, agreed before anything is booked.
