Magician in Fargo

Nine hours from Milwaukee, which makes Fargo an overnight rather than a day trip

Fargo is about nine hours from Milwaukee. I will drive it, but nine hours each way means an overnight rather than a same-day turnaround, and that gets agreed up front with everything else — travel is either built into the package or itemised on your quote.

Fargo–Moorhead is smaller than most markets I work, and that is an advantage. The same companies and associations run the same events every year, the venues are known quantities, and people book a long way ahead because they already know what they want.

What gets booked in Fargo

Agriculture runs underneath everything — equipment manufacturers, ag technology, grain and machinery dealers — and it sets the calendar. Winter is the busy season here, because that is when farmers are out of the field and the associations hold their conventions and banquets. Big Iron in September is the other fixed point.

Beyond ag: Microsoft's campus here is one of its largest anywhere, Sanford and Essentia cover healthcare, and there is a real regional banking and insurance sector. NDSU and the Fargodome pull the biggest crowds. Winter banquets and December parties are the most common ask by some distance.

Getting there

Roughly 9 hours by road from Milwaukee. That is normally still a drive rather than a flight, which means the full show travels with me, and travel is either built into the package or itemised on your quote, agreed before anything is booked.

Also covered nearby: West Fargo, Moorhead, Dilworth, Horace, Casselton, Harwood.
