Nine hours up I-94, and a winter meeting season worth planning around
North Dakota is a drive rather than a flight. Nine hours up through Minnesota on I-94 means my own equipment travels with me and nothing has to be shipped or rented on arrival.

The calendar here is seasonal and association-heavy. Winter is convention season: agricultural groups, co-ops, implement dealers, banking and healthcare associations hold their annual meetings and banquets between January and March, and an after-dinner entertainer is a normal line item rather than a splurge.
The rest of the work spreads across Fargo's technology and manufacturing employers, the state offices in Bismarck, the energy companies out west and the aviation and university crowd around Grand Forks. Community fundraisers, church events and school programmes carry more weight here than in bigger markets, often in the same room on a different night.
