Pharmaceutical corridors, port logistics and a serious catering-hall tradition in one small state
New Jersey is thirteen hours by road, so I fly into Newark and work from there. The state is dense enough that the airport is rarely more than an hour from the venue, whether that is Morristown, Jersey City or somewhere down the shore.
Atlantic City is the exception that wants its own plan, since a convention date there usually means staying through. Flights and ground transport are either built into the package or itemised on the quote, agreed before anything is booked.
What I get booked for in New Jersey
The corporate side is pharmaceuticals and life sciences along the 78 and 287 corridors, logistics and shipping around the ports, and financial operations in Jersey City. A lot of it exists because holding a meeting in New Jersey costs less than holding the same meeting in Manhattan, and those groups still expect a New York standard of entertainment.
The private side is its own institution. New Jersey has real catering halls and country clubs, and the celebrations held in them, weddings, milestone birthdays, bar and bat mitzvahs, anniversaries, are large, multi-generational and planned well ahead.
