Maryland is a fly-in state for me. It is thirteen hours by road from Milwaukee, which is a day I would rather spend rehearsing than driving, so I book into BWI and work out of one hotel for the length of the stay.
That suits the way Maryland dates cluster. Bethesda, Rockville and National Harbor sit close enough together that a Thursday evening in one and a Friday lunch in another is a normal week. Flights and ground travel are either built into the package or itemised on your quote, agreed before anything is booked.
What I get booked for in Maryland
Two economies drive the work here. The I-270 corridor runs on life sciences, federal contracting and cybersecurity, and those companies hold a lot of internal events, from team milestones to contract wins, where a speech on its own is not enough.
The other is association work. A great deal of what meets in Washington actually sleeps and meets in Maryland, at National Harbor or the Baltimore Convention Center, and those groups want something for the reception rather than the general session. Annapolis brings the private side: waterfront weddings, club dinners, retirement parties.
