Magician in Louisiana

New Orleans conventions and Gulf energy companies, in a season that ends when the heat starts

Louisiana is fourteen hours by road, so in practice it is a fly-in. New Orleans is the destination most of the time and takes a connection from Milwaukee, which makes it a two-day trip on my end.

Timing matters more here than in most states. The meetings season runs January through May, the city fills up around Mardi Gras, and the good dates go early. Flights and hotel are either built into the package or itemised on your quote before anything is signed.

What I get booked for in Louisiana

New Orleans is one of the largest convention cities in the country, and the work there is trade shows, hospitality suites and receptions attached to national meetings. Energy is the other pillar — oil, gas and petrochemical companies along the Gulf and up toward Baton Rouge, running customer events and safety award dinners.

It is also a city with its own entertainment on every corner, and clients know it. What gets hired from outside is usually the thing a brass band cannot do: close-up work at a table, in a suite, in the middle of a conversation.

Travel

A fly-in date from Milwaukee. Flights and time on the ground are either built into the package or shown as a separate line on your quote, agreed before anything is booked — never added afterwards.

Where the people are

Louisiana’s biggest cities

Most of Louisiana’s population lives in and around these five cities, and that is where most of the events are. Caleb performs in all of them — and in the smaller towns between them.
