Magician in Champaign

A university town, which means banquet season runs on the academic calendar.

Champaign-Urbana is four hours down I-57, close enough for a single evening. The academic calendar governs everything: the bookable stretches are September to early December and February through April, and the weeks either side of finals are quiet no matter what else is happening.

What gets booked in Champaign

The University of Illinois is the market. Department banquets, donor receptions, fraternity and sorority formals, and the research park's growing set of tech companies all book entertainment, and the research park in particular runs the kind of client evenings where close-up magic does more work than a speaker. Parkland College and the Champaign school district add family-night and assembly work. Homecoming and graduation weekends fill early, so those need booking well ahead.

Getting there

About 4 hours by road from Milwaukee. That is a regular run, and travel is either built into the package or itemised on your quote, agreed before anything is booked.

Also covered nearby: Urbana, Savoy, Mahomet, Rantoul, Monticello, Danville.
