Illinois is the market I work most outside Wisconsin. Chicago and the northern suburbs are close enough to drive, which keeps things simple: no flights, no equipment shipping, and I can cover an evening date and be home the same night. Rockford and the Fox Valley work the same way.
What I get booked for in Illinois
Chicago work is heavily corporate: client hospitality, sales kickoffs, conference hospitality suites and holiday parties. The suburbs bring more private events and fundraisers, and the show floors in Rosemont want strolling magic that draws a crowd to a booth without needing a stage or a schedule.
Downstate runs on a different calendar. Springfield and Peoria hold association and state-body conferences, Bloomington has insurance, and the university towns book campus and community dates well in advance.
Travel
An easy 1.5-hour drive from Milwaukee, so this is a straightforward date to cover.
