Washington is a fly-in, and one of the longer ones on my calendar. A Seattle date generally means two nights away rather than one.
Because of that I like to book it with some notice, and if there is a Portland or Vancouver-area date in the same week the whole trip makes more sense. Travel is either built into the package or itemised on your quote, settled before anything is confirmed.
What I get booked for in Washington
Seattle and the Eastside are dominated by software and cloud companies, and their events follow a pattern: team off-sites, all-hands evenings, user conferences, and holiday parties for engineers who are not a naturally credulous audience. Close-up magic does well in that room precisely because it holds up to being examined.
Aerospace, maritime and healthcare fill in around it. East of the mountains, Spokane hosts most of the regional convention and association business, and the Yakima and Walla Walla wine country brings the private work.

A fly-in date from Milwaukee. Flights and time on the ground are either built into the package or shown as a separate line on your quote, agreed before anything is booked — never added afterwards.
