Texas is a fly-in market with enough corporate volume to be worth the trip. Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio all book the kind of work I do, and they behave differently enough that it helps to say which one you are in when you enquire. The venues, the calendars and the audiences are not interchangeable.
What I get booked for in Texas
Texas bookings are overwhelmingly corporate: sales meetings, customer events, conference hospitality and holiday parties. Large venues also make the stage show a realistic option here in a way smaller markets do not. A ballroom built for a thousand people is ordinary rather than exceptional. Energy, technology, healthcare and financial services lead the enquiries. Convention traffic runs heavy in spring and autumn and January sales kickoffs are a fixture, so those windows fill first.
Travel
A fly-in date from Milwaukee. Flights and time on the ground are either built into the package or shown as a separate line on your quote, agreed before anything is booked and never added afterwards.
