Alabama is a twelve-hour drive from Milwaukee, so it usually comes down to how many dates are on the trip. One booking and I fly into Birmingham or Huntsville. Two or three across a week and driving makes more sense, because I arrive with my own case and nothing gets handed to an airline.
Either way, travel is either built into the package or itemised on your quote, and it is agreed before anything is booked. Nothing about getting me there should turn up as a surprise line afterwards.
What I get booked for in Alabama
Huntsville is the outlier in the state and the one I get asked about most: defense and aerospace contractors, engineering firms around Redstone, and technical audiences who are harder to fool and better company for it. Birmingham brings banking, insurance and the UAB medical world. Mobile and the Gulf Coast run on the port, shipbuilding and a long social season.
Statewide, churches and civic clubs book more entertainment here than in most places, and they want material that works clean without anyone having to ask.

Roughly 12 hours by road from Milwaukee. That is normally still a drive rather than a flight, which means the full show travels with me, and travel is either built into the package or itemised on your quote, agreed before anything is booked.
